Serious paintballers know the importance of staying fit to avoid injuries on the field, as well as having the stamina to kick some serious butt out there. I have long been a big supporter of the notion that a strong core is the single most important foundation of any exercise regimen, and have incorporated core strengthening exercises into my workouts for years now.

I came to this conclusion after suffering a back injury in my 20’s and finding a personal trainer who specialized in core strengthening for back rehabilitation. The result is a strong and healthy back, resulting in fewer injuries, less time off work, and less time at home when I can be off playing on my days off.

I recently stumbled upon a great system for the ultimate in core strengthening called Turbulence Training that also promises maximum fat loss in minimum workout time. This program was developed by Craig Ballantyne, a well respected strength coach, fitness researcher, and fitness author (he is a regular writer for Men’s Health magazine).

The Turbulence Training program is a perfect fit for the kind of conditioning required for paintball. It is comprised of 45 minute workouts 3 times a week, something that I’m sure even the busiest person could find time for. And furthermore, if you don’t have time to commute to the gym, but have access to a bench, dumbbells and an exercise ball, you can do the program from the comfort of your own home. So, if you are looking for a quick and effective workout program aimed at optimizing your performance on the field, check out my full Turbulence Training review.
